I'll probably move out of the city in a few years and when I do, I'll buy another tube amp. I have it all set up on a rolling cart - plug and play. The headphone-out quality isn't as good as I hoped, but the 5" speaker built into the head sounds great and quiet enough to make the headphones unnecessary. Ive got a 13" laptop plugged in next to it and I can make changes on the fly until I'm settled in with it. There's a lot of tweak potential for the amp profiles and effects. I own decent delay and tremolo pedals and they are in the effects loop. I own a Guyatone FR-3000V outboard tank, so lots of drip on tap. I didn't consider the purchase as a stand-alone tool. Of my 8 presets available on my control board, four are Fender and a "Twin" is occupying the #1 position.

Oh, an aux-in port for backing track or digitech trio use. I wanted something with decent headphone output, effects loop, quiet practice capability and the ability to crank it when I can. Running a tube amp at the hours I like to play just isn't going to work. Katanas are both going back.I live in the city with lots of close neighbors. So, the grass is greener on the other side, has been proven again. I cant really get a bad sound out of my Champion 40, except for my playing. Would think Boss could do better than that. Also, figured if I could get it sounding ok, then a footswitch (which should come with this amp) needs to be purchase separately and needs a battery or adapter power. That's fine, but should I really have to do that to get some kind of decent tone? It should not be that difficult to get a decent sound out of an amp.

Just sounds awful to me no matter what I do (Clean with boost, or Brown etc.) Now, I'm sure some will say use your computer and go to the website. Watched a bunch of videos on settings etc. Brittle, Harsh, just fake and bad sounding. Cleans are OK, but overdrive distortion are a nightmare. I cant get a good sound out of this thing. Beautiful cleans, really rich, full and punchy some really nice overdrive tones in blackface and British. especially with a small dose of reverb + delay. So I get home, plugged it in, and was shocked at how good the thing sounded. Granted, it had been years since I played one, and I was biased from my previous experience. I had never liked Fender SS amps, especially their built in distortion. good price? liked the look? bored ?, don't remember. About a year ago, I picked up a like new Fender Champion 40 at a pawn shop for $78.00.
